Dear Foundation Supporter,

The Chernik Amputee Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 that has been instrumental in changing the lives of many individuals who have experienced limb loss.  We are asking for your support of this year’s golf open, which is being held Friday, July 17th at the Simsbury Farms Golf Course in Simsbury, CT.  This is our 12th annual event and is the Foundation’s primary means of raising funds.  Each year the tournament draws over 150 people and your donation will be used in either our player raffle or silent auction.  Every penny generated from the day’s activities goes directly to the Foundation.  Exciting golf sponsorship opportunities, which are outlined in the tournament brochure and on our web site, are also available as are openings to play in the event.

 

The Foundation has also taken on another role in supporting amputee soldiers returning home from fighting for our freedom.  We are currently involved with the Wounded Warrior Project, The Warriors on Ice Hockey Program, The Hartford Wolf Pack is also involved in helping The Foundation with a Wounded Warrior Project Event, The U.S. National Amputee Hockey Team (part of USA Hockey), and the Thomas DeMartino Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Our active sponsors include the National Hockey League (NHL), the American Hockey League (AHL), the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), the National Ice Hockey Officials Association (NIHOA), the Hartford WolfPack (affiliate of the New York Rangers and Madison Square Garden), the Rehabilitation Hospital of Connecticut (a St. Francis Care Provider) as well as numerous local businesses.

 

Your generous donation will allow us to maintain these associations while building additional affiliations that will enable us to grow and continue helping so many others.  Together we can make a difference!
